Steve Birnie Ð Biography
Steve enjoys working with people. He is passionate in his belief that people are an organisations best asset so itÕs vital to understand how to get the best from them. He has spent 15 years as a successful motivator, manager and coach working with both the private and public sector.
He has spent much of the last 4 years as a business consultant working with the NHS. He has worked closely with teams all over the UK providing team working advice and management skills training.
He has worked on a consultancy basis on projects involving the health department of the Scottish Government, acted as an adviser to a major charity and frequently runs courses on management skills for professionals at all levels.
He is enthusiastic approach to motivation and behavioural change has seen him asked to speak at national and international meetings.
Steve is also an accredited practitioner for the Insights learning and Development system. It was from working with this organisation that Steve has developed his interest in psychology and behavioural change which form the basis for a lot of his workshops.
SteveÕs philosophy on training is that it should be relevant so it makes sense for the audience in their day to day work. It should be enjoyable so people want to take in the information and come back for more. It should be interactive so people get the chance for experiential learning. Finally it should involve a commitment to do something different as a result of the learning experience.
In his spare time Steve is the chair of the board of trustees for a local youth and community centre. He provides training and advice to the centre on a voluntary basis as well as arranging and helping with fundraising events. He also dabbles in photography and plays golf pretty badly. |
